Big Mac Banking
Est. February 14, 2020
Big Mac Banking, also referred to as our Student Branch, is located inside Canon McMillan High School. It is an embodiment of our Credit Union philosophy “people helping people.” The Student Branch offers quality financial products and serves as an innovative educational tool. The program teaches students the basic principles of Financial Services and Money Management while preparing them for future employment. Other beneficial skills include: mathematical reasoning, computer literacy, time management, organization, and teamwork. Paid Summer Internships at our Meadows Landing location are also available to students participating in the program.
On February 14, 2020, Big Mac Banking officially opened for business! The grand opening was extremely rewarding for the Credit Union and the School District after two years of planning and preparation.
A Student Club was formed to name the branch, design a logo, and create marketing campaigns to promote the Credit Union and encourage fellow students to save money. Club Members and students enrolled in Canon-McMillan’s financial planning courses work in the Student Branch alongside Credit Union staff.
Big Mac Banking is a fully functional Banking Center in operation at least two days a week throughout the school year. Branch products and services are available for faculty members and students alike. Big Mac Banking members are also members of Washington Area FCU. Members can transact at both locations and utilize all electronic banking channels.
